Latest UKSSN Projects

Students and staff from across the networks have been busy working on various projects together this academic year. Read on to find out what they have been up to!

 

Spring term:

 

 

 

 

  • UKSSN students Amitha (Bucks), Charlotte (Wales), and Amruta (Midlands) and UKSSN staff lead Jess Tipton, were featured in an episode of Coffee & Geography.

 

  • Student social media takeovers: students have been taking turns to help run the UKSSN Instagram and Twitter platforms. The content has ranged from COP27 infographics to artwork and posts to mark LGBTQ+ history month. To view the posts, – search #UKSSNStudentTakeover on UKSSN Instagram and Twitter.

 

 

Autumn term:

 

 

  • COP27 Asks: UKSSN students wrote a letter to COP27 delegates and observers outlining what outcomes they would like to see from the conference.

 

  • Letter to Department for Education: The students wrote a letter to the DfE reinstating their views on the latest Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy that was released in spring this year.

 

  • Letter to King Charles: UKSSN students wrote a letter to His Majesty King Charles III to welcome him to his new post and thank him for his recent work on raising awareness of environmental issues.
