Calling schools in West London!

Opportunity for expert environmental support and funding: Register your school’s interest by Midnight, Thursday 1st April.

Secondary schools are invited to take part in the UK’s first schools project of its kind. From the savvy use of tech, to promoting pre-loved over fast fashion to championing green enterprise on the high street. “The Schools Good Life Challenge” will enable 6 schools in West London to promote compassion not consumerism, in 2022-3.

When?

Activities will not commence before Jan 2022 and will take place over at least 3 terms.

Why take part?

  • Funding in the order of £5k per school that could fund out of school hours teacher or session leader time, or for the purchase of items to enable student project activities
  • Youth- focused environmental charity Global Action Plan will offer funded onsite workshops for classes/student led action teams that develop wellbeing and climate friendly ways of “doing school” across food, tech, fashion, energy, enterprise and celebrations/gifts.
  • Expert advice and support for school leadership to lead on climate/environmental action across school buildings, curriculum and culture (for example support to go carbon neutral by 2030 through the Let’s Go Zero programme)
  • Opportunities to improve the wellbeing for students, boost STEM learning, develop enterprise skills, and for students to take part in our 2021 Youth Climate Summit to coincide with COP 26

The activity is being coordinated by Global Action Plan, the charity behind the Transform our World teacher network and the Youth Climate Summit 2020. Please note this is subject to a successful funding proposal to the National Lottery Community Fund.
