A community of educators empowering students to take climate action

Youth Climate Summit Ambassadors

We are looking for ambassadors from secondary schools and sixth forms from different regions of the UK to promote the youth climate action event of the decade taking place 9-13th November 2020!

Schools from around the UK will be coming together online during what would have been the week of COP26 to take action to create a more just, sustainable world and make commitments and pledges for the planet. Coordinated by charity Global Action Plan and a team of dedicated teachers and organisations, the Youth Climate Summit will be a week-long virtual festival with days of themed discussions and activities. An exciting new schools programme – Let’s Go Zero 2030 – will also be launched at the summit.

Working alongside other regional ambassadors, teachers and event organisers, you will be helping us by:

  • Promoting the event to schools and young people throughout your region
  • Acting as a youth voice for your region to help with planning an engaging event
  • Taking an active role in the virtual event itself
  • Helping maintain momentum in schools in your region after the event
  • Potentially representing youth voice at the official international COP26 event in 2021

What we’re looking for in an ambassador:

  • Genuine interest in both people and planet
  • Willingness to speak in public
  • Passion for writing
  • Experience in different forms of social media
  • Interest in networking with other young people and adults, including figures of authority like Headteachers and MPs

If you think you have what it takes to get schools and young people on board, we would love to hear from you!

Deadline for applications: Sunday 12th September

Start date: asap after appointments, likely mid-September
