A community of educators empowering students to take climate action

Week 3: Nature, Oceans & Outdoor Learning

15th-21st February

This week our #Ecolockdown challenge is:

Spend an hour counting the birds you see in your garden or from your window.

This week's challenge is The Big Schools' Birdwatch and reminds us to appreciate nature around us and to think about the importance of protecting it.

Ask your class to spend some time thinking about the animals they see around their home and the challenges they may face. Get them to spend an hour making a note of how many birds they see in their garden or from their window. See how many different types of birds they spot!

For ideas on how your class can make their garden an attractive place for birds to stop for a snack check out RSPB's top tips

We want to hear from everyone participating in the EcoLockdown challenge. Share pictures of the birds your students see with us on social media using #EcoLockdown

Below are some sessions from our Youth Climate Summit that you can watch with your class to help them learn more about Nature, Oceans & Outdoor learning.

You can also explore the full library of all the Youth Climate Summit sessions here.
