Clean Seas: Climate, the sea & me
With Marine Conservation Society
Session for secondary schools
Our actions have implications for pollution in the ocean, which in turn impacts our health and welfare. Marine litter especially plastics harms animals and marine habitats in a number of ways including reducing the oceans ability to store carbon. We must stop plastic entering the oceans from all sources. We fully support the concept of a circular economy in which litter is seen as a resource rather than waste. Products should be designed to be repaired, reused and remade; thereby removing waste and helping to preserve our planets finite resources. MCS’s Clean Seas programme has been working to reduce marine pollution over the last decade. Learn how using science to advocate for change has led to positive political movements.
