Partnerships and Funding

Young people are passionate about climate and sustainability issues, but often lack the support needed to take meaningful action.

By galvanising and coordinating youth voice, UKSSN has quickly established itself as a driving force in the development of sustainability education policy and practice. Having grown membership from three networks in 2021 to ten by the end of 2022, UKSSN is already supporting a further 13 member networks across the UK, from Scotland to Guernsey, alongside ever-expanding teacher and operations staff groups.

Why work with us?

Drawing on our longstanding experience of student-led environmental programmes, Global Action Plan plays a pivotal role in mobilising student networks. By supporting network leads, implementing safeguarding protocols, and coordinating upskilling opportunities, we provide the platform that unites like-minded young people and educators for environmental action. Together we are building a culture of youth social action and sustainability within the education sector.

Each partnership is different. There are a few ways you could support us, for example: by providing internships/work experience for young people, sponsoring events and workshops, providing training sessions for young people and teachers.

Email us to discuss how we can develop a partnership together. We can discuss a sponsorship package so that you receive recognition for your support

What we have achieved

  • 81% of students and 82% of staff said they felt more motivated to take action to help people and planet after being part of UKSSN.

  • Winner of the Net Zero 50 People’s Choice Award 2022 in recognition of our work uniting students and educators to take climate action.

  • UKSSN engagement with COP26, the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy and media appearances on Good Morning Britain and regional BBC radio shows.
