A community of educators empowering students to take climate action

Energy Sparks - is biomass best?

This Energy Sparks resource is aimed at KS3/4 (or UKS2 with support) and examines why the use of biofuels to generate electricity or for heating can be a contentious subject.

Following input from a podcast and online research, pupils will identify the most significant advantages and disadvantages of this renewable fuel. This activity can also be extended into expository writing, a class debate or investigation about your own school's use of biomass.
