Wodensborough Academy visions of the future

Wodensborough Ormiston Academy in the West Midlands has been supported by Transform Our World Youth Engagement Officer, Leah.

Students from the 'Santa’s Little Helpers' Transform Our World group worked on expressing how they hoped the future would look if more young people like them started working to help each other and the planet.

Some also wrote about what they hoped their own lives would be like in such a future. Some students chose to write about their ideas, while others wanted to represent them through art.

Below are some examples of the beautiful, and hopeful visions of the future that the group came up with. One idea that came up a lot, and which is mentioned in both the written pieces below, is that even those students who didn’t see themselves working a job that was specifically focused on helping or protecting nature, they would still want to work towards this goal in their free time no matter what job they had.

Another hope that many of the students expressed, is that in the future they would live in a more equal and fair world, a hope which is represented below by one student who hoped to see more boys participating in traditionally feminine pass times like dance, while more girls would get involved with currently male-dominated sports like football.

Wodensborough Academy is supported by Youth Engagement Officer Leah, funded by #iWill.
