Refield Crowned Winners at Water Explorer Celebration Event 2019
The Water Explorer programme is a Global Action Plan initiative encouraging children aged 8-14 from over 13 countries to take bold and powerful action to save our precious water through fun, interactive water saving Missions.
On Friday 27th September, the top five Water Explorer teams came together at HSBC Headquarters in Canary Wharf, London, to celebrate the amazing work they have achieved this past academic year.
Newcomers The Park Primary, Horfield CEVC Primary School and Redfield Educate Together Primary Academy competed for the National Winner award. The judges from Anglian Water, STEM Learning, HSBC and Global Action Plan came to the unanimous decision that Redfield Educate Together Primary Academy were most deserving of the top prize this year.
Returning schools Corbridge Middle School and Monkspath Junior and Infant School were considered for the Water Explorer Legend award: a prize celebrating their outstanding contribution to Water Explorer over the years. After much deliberation, it was decided that both schools were to be awarded this prestigious award, elevating them to legendary status in the Water Explorer community.
The children thoroughly enjoyed conducting watery experiments with Erina the Science Boffin, and they also took part in making their own puppets and drawing a Water Explorer super hero comic strip.
Congratulations, Redfield Educate Together!
