The UK Schools Sustainability network has won the #NetZero50 People's Choice Award 2022 🎉
The Net Zero 50 List, organised by Digital Leaders, celebrates innovations by individuals, businesses, government or non-profits using digital products or services for positive social or environmental benefit.
UKSSN was nominated for the Net Zero 50 List by our COP26 partners PplPwrOrg under the Public Sector Net Zero category.
Thanks to all those who voted for us (over 5,600!) we were awarded the #NetZero50 People's Choice Award. The award was presented to UKSSN's founder Dr Jess Tipton by Professor Adam Beaumont, CEO of aql and Eden Project Trustee, at a House of Lords breakfast reception hosted by Lord Jim Knight, former schools minister who has been campaigning for climate education for some time. You can read more about the event here.
We are delighted that the efforts of students, staff and our supporting organisations in pushing for climate education and sustainability in schools have been recognised.
We would like to thank the incredible pupils & staff of our networks, our host charity Global Action Plan, the #iWill movement for supporting us, Digital Leaders for organising the awards, PPLPwr Org for nominating us and all those who voted for us amongst lots of great projects.
