NEWS & STORIES
We know that we’re living in historic times - the climate events and the IPCC report publication over the summer will have got a lot of students concerned, and it’s going to be an eventful term for climate action.
This November, the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) is happening - it’s the UK’s turn to host the conference, so it will be in the news a lot as world leaders come to Glasgow to make decisions that will directly impact the future of the planet. With so much going on this term, you may be asked what your school is doing to get involved in climate learning and action.
The Transform Our World Youth Summit is an easy way for schools to get involved in the action surrounding COP26 and for students to know they are not alone in their concern for the planet. You can sign up now to attend online with your students.
Taking place online across four days during the fortnight of COP26 (Wednesday 3rd, Monday 8th, Wednesday 10th and Friday 12th November), the Summit explores themes of ACTION, POWER and VALUES, with young people actively taking part in Dragon’s Den style events, debates, careers sessions and storytelling, among other carefully-selected Fringe events.
Sessions are tailored for both primary and secondary students, ranging in length to be as flexible as possible. The programme will be announced in full in early October.
Youth Ambassador presenters will be reporting each day on what’s happening at COP26, and providing useful takeaways and practical advice from sessions for teachers, students and schools who want to empower young people to take climate action.
