Two of our schools, Westcliff High School for Girls and Darlinghurst Academy teamed up with local litter picking group, Southend BeachCare to litter pick in Old Leigh as part of the Great British Spring Clean in April.
Students, their families, staff and members of the public collected 17 sacks of rubbish and raised money for a local homeless charity, SVP. Random finds included a big 81st birthday balloon and a bag of coat hangers.
The oldest find was from 2007, which pre-dates all our students!
