Celebrating Clean Air Day in schools: Supporting your journey to improve air quality with the whole school community
Thursday 9th June 2022, 4pm-5pm
Clean Air Day is the UK's largest air pollution campaign, bringing together communities, schools, businesses and the health sector. Join us so we can help you bring the school community together - either to start a cleaner air journey or continue on an existing one.
The World Health Organisation and the UK Government recognise that air pollution is the largest environmental health risk we face today. Almost every school in the UK is in an area where the air quality is above safe levels - and children are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of air pollution.
Clean Air Day is a fantastic moment for schools to take action, no matter how big or small, to improve air quality and help protect children's health, development and enhance their ability to learn.
This will be an interactive session where educators will be introduced to a range of free schools' resources they can use to celebrate Clean Air Day and support their journeys to improve air quality with their school community. During the session, we'll also share examples of actions other schools have taken, to provide inspiration of different ways the tools and resources have been used.
There will be dedicated time towards the end of the session for attendees to come together to ask questions and share ideas on what they are or would like to be doing in their school.
