Walking bus

This KS2 resource is designed to educate your students and the school community about walking buses, collect data, plan and map some possible walking bus routes and use this information to encourage their parents and families to help them run a walking bus.

Students will:

  • Understand what a walking bus is and why it is a good idea
  • Run an assembly to inform the school community about walking buses
  • Carry out a survey to find out which students want to join the walking bus
  • Map possible routes for the walking bus
  • Research the benefits of a walking bus
  • Raise their voices by appealing to parents and the wider school community to help run the walking bus
