Session for secondary schools

Maths for Planet Earth is an initiative which aims to promote integrating climate change and sustainability into the school curriculum beyond the usual subjects of science or geography. The website currently hosts a repository of GCSE and A-level maths questions on topics related to the environment which you can find here.

The Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford organizes and promotes "interdisciplinary research on the nature, causes, and impact of environmental change and to contribute to the development of management strategies for coping with future environmental change". The ECI has five programmes which focus on Climate, Ecosystems, Energy, Food, and Water.

Speaker: Miriam Zachau Walker is a PhD student at the University of Oxford, where her research focuses on flexibility in highly renewable electricity systems. Prior to graduate study, she taught secondary school science.
