Sustainable Engineering for an Accessible Environment
Project Impactive
Session for secondary schools
Engineering is defined as the application of science to the optimum conversion of the resources of nature to the uses of humankind. In this session Project Impactive will encourage you to consider how engineering can be used to solve some of the most important problems facing society, making the world a more sustainable and accessible place for all. Taking you through the design process, Project Impactive will inspire you to use the principles of sustainability and accessibility in engineering to transform the world around you.
Project Impactive is a non-profit organisation, founded by UCL students in 2016. Project Impactive volunteers work directly with people who are living with disabilities to develop solutions to the accessibility-related difficulties they are facing in their everyday lives. They believe that some of the best innovations come from young people, having seen the truly transformative devices that students have built for Project Impactive clients and hope to inspire you to use engineering to transform your own environment, making it more sustainable and accessible.
