Veg Hacks: The story of squash
With Riverford
Session for secondary schools
Have you ever wondered where pumpkins and squash grow and what they taste like? In this session, Riverford chef James shows where autumn squash grows on our beautiful organic farm in the heart of Devon, before transforming them into delicious autumn meals in his on-farm kitchen. Organic farming is done in harmony with nature – find out why we don’t use any harmful pesticides on any of our soil or vegetables, meaning that our land is a haven for bugs, bees and all kinds of other wildlife.
Riverford delivers organic veg boxes to households across the country to a loyal band of customers who share our passion and care for the environment. Riverford is owned by their staff, since founder Guy sold the business to employees in 2018, meaning that everyone who works at Riverford owns a slice of the business.
