A Route Into Nature
Environmental Leadership Programme with Ardscoil na Mara Secondary School
Session for secondary schools
This session was hosted Live as part of the Youth Climate Summit in November 2020.
Patrick trained in London with Teach First. He has been teaching in disadvantaged schools for 10 years. He has always been keen to engage his students with nature and 4 years into the profession he started a school garden in Hammersmith Academy. He and his students have been on an incredible journey winning lots of awards, growing food for a food bank, creating a whole school nature programme and learning how a school garden can be a conduit for promoting mental health, the environment, and community. Patrick talks about an environmental leadership programme and how a garden can be a route into nature.
