A community of educators empowering students to take climate action

Anti-idling campaign

This resource is designed to teach your students about idling and why it is dangerous. It encourages students to raise awareness about this issue and how they can participate in activities to do this, such as a monitoring activity outside of school and an anti-idling campaign.

Students will:

  • Understand what idling is and how it is linked to air pollution
  • Understand the negative health and environmental impacts associated with idling behaviour
  • Conduct an idling monitoring activity
  • Create posters about idling
  • Write a letter to parents about idling and present on anti-idling at assembly
  • Use posters and students’ voices to raise awareness about idling in a mini-demonstration
